Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was given a mandate from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, leader of The Justice and Development (AK) party, to form a new coalition government. Davutoglu has 45 days counting from 11th July to form a government but he’s set to face a number of challenges since opposition parties are now demanding a bigger share in the country’s future government. AK party, which lost its single majority in parliament for the first time since it took power in 2002, has been engaged in lengthy talks on coalition options. This week, Davutoglu is expected to meet with the leaders of three other parties to discuss their conditions to join an AK party-led coalition government.
